
One's
first thought might be "to prevent a cold or prevent cancer or heart
disease". However, there is more to it than that. When someone already
has an illness, there is still the need to do one or all of these:
- Prevent the illness/disease from getting worse, further adding to the burden of healing;
- Prevent it from spreading or metastasizing;
- Prevent another, similarly caused illness from occurring.
Looking
at just one example: arteriosclerosis. The underlying condition
causing the illness is almost certainly a combination of several biochemical
missteps or imbalances. Below are some of the issues, which might be
contributing to the original cause of the arteriosclerosis:
- Too much fat in their diet,
- Too much sugar, especially refined sugar;
- Too little dietary fiber,
- Too few dietary enzymes,
- Too few antioxidants,
- An imbalance of minerals,
Too
many other physical and emotional stressors on the body's other systems,
disabling the healing function for the arteries. The more burdened the
body is with stress, the greater the degree of the symptoms expressed.
Any of these issues, if not dealt with, will cause additional problems
or diseases. Some possibilities include cancer, high blood pressure,
high cholesterol, a heart attack, a stroke, diabetes, peripheral vascular
and neuropathic disorders, auto-immune diseases, migraines, all forms
of digestive disorders including, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome,
Crohn's, acid reflux, and the list goes on.

Traditional medicine often focuses only on symptoms of the illness,
without seeking to change the underlying conditions, which caused
the cell level changes, that triggered the illness to begin with. The

Illnesses
do not stand alone, and are more effectively and less expensively dealt
with at the root cause. Using prescription drugs as an answer to illness
and disease, relieve pain or inflammation or cure an infection, but
will not repair or heal the underlying problem. Certainly colon surgery
removes the manifestation of colon cancer, but does nothing to undo
the reason the problem arose in the first place . . . but good nutrition
can and does. Removing a breast might remove the cancer, but will not
repair the damage or prevent a recurrence without a change in the lifestyle
of the patient.
Both excesses and deficiencies can lead to serious illnesses over time.
Illnesses can be prevented by eating enough antioxidants, minerals and
other nutrients, avoiding hydrogenated fats, consuming the necessary
essential fatty acids, and by drinking enough clean filtered water.
At any point along the way, until death, it is possible to reverse the
process to some extent or completely by eating the missing elements
necessary to the human body's functioning.

NUTRITION
MADE SIMPLE deals with health at the cellular level. Doing so provides
the ability to prevent all of these problems. If each of these missteps
in the body are avoided in the first place or repaired soon after they
